If you’ve visited my website, you’ll see new ways to work with me and some old favourites still available as recordings. On holiday in Port Douglas, I stumbled upon the book Playing Big by Tara Mohr, which set me on the mentoring path. It made me realise the importance of stepping out of our comfort zones and seizing opportunities. This book highlighted how we often hold ourselves back, thinking we need more skills before taking the next step. Inspired, I applied to lecture at Endeavour in Adelaide and started my mentoring journey.

Taking Action and Finding Support

Reflecting on my journey, I recall a significant turning point during a family holiday in Port Douglas. We stayed in a less-than-ideal rental, and a friend invited us to spend a day at her luxurious accommodation. This stark contrast highlighted the importance of our surroundings in shaping our experiences. While there, I picked up Playing Big by Tara Mohr, a book that profoundly influenced my outlook.

The book’s first chapter resonated deeply with me, discussing how we often hold ourselves back by continuously seeking new skills instead of embracing our current capabilities. This realisation was a wake-up call, prompting me to apply for a lecturing position at Endeavour in Adelaide, despite being on holiday and having only my phone to work with. This leap of faith marked the beginning of my mentoring career.
